Building a Cyrus System

Building a better music experience the Cyrus way. The whole experience of playing one of your favourite songs and being completely immersed in the performance is what makes listening to music at home fantastic. Equipment that keeps opening up this experience and taking it to higher and higher levels each time is what motivates the Cyrus team to make outstanding products.

So when you start with a simple Cyrus system, what do you get and what benefits are there if you invest more money in your hi-fi? This simple guide is designed to take you through one possible journey (there are many different starting points and finishing points!) to help you understand this process and what each Cyrus upgrade can do.

Starting System

Your starting system is a CD transport (CD t) partnered with an integrated amplifier (6 DAC). Build a better music experience over time until you reach your ultimate hi-fi system. Add new products for additional function and performance and replace lower range models for more advanced components.

In theory, when you spend more money on any hi-fi components you should get improved resolution and a wider dynamic range. What does this mean? Well as an audio system is trying to recreate a performance in your living room, you can assimilate this to taking pictures; as your hi-fi is trying to create a picture of sound. Improved resolution is like having your camera image in sharp focus using a very high quality lens. Wider Dynamic Range describes an attribute of an imaging system that can record greater scene details, from shadows to highlights than normal. Your hi-fi system therefore has the ability to play your music at low listening levels and also at high levels without strain and be emotionally engaging at any volume setting giving you the detail to hear all parts of the performance more clearly.

And this is exactly what you do get when you upgrade your Cyrus system from the excellent Cyrus 6 DAC and CD t combination all the way up to the full Signature System. You hear this improvement every time.
