Before starting, make sure your ONE cast has been set up with Google Home, and the Cast LED is showing green. If you haven’t done this please follow our walkthrough by clicking on the button below.
ONE Cast setup
Most streaming apps are cast compatible. These include Spotify, Tidal, Deezer, Qobuz, BBC sounds, Roon and many others – A full list of support services can be found by clicking the button below.
On the now playing screen of your streaming app, you will find a cast or speaker symbol, typically at the bottom of the screen. In this demonstration, we’re using casting music from a Spotify Premium account. At the bottom left of your screen of the track screen, select the icon that represents a speaker and screen. This will open up a list of devices to connect to.Supported Services
Tap the icon and a list of available devices will appear, which will include your Cyrus ONE cast. In this example, we’ve named our ONE cast “Dining Room Speaker”
Select your Cyrus ONE cast from the lsit. It will take a few seconds to connect. The Cast light on your ONE Cast will go from green to white, and the music will start playing through your ONE Cast. The streaming app will also show that it is broadcasting to the ONE cast.
Now while your phone is controlling what is playing, the music stream is actually going directly from the cloud to your ONE cast. This allows Hi Res files to be streamed directly to your ONE cast for an even better music experience. Most Tidal streams are in CD quality, and many Qobuz files are in Hi Res. Your ONE cast will natively play any Hi-Res file up to 24/96.
You can control the volume of the ONE cast using the volume controls on your phone, skip a track and play and pause. Music will continue playing if the app is closed.
